Italian culture celebrates both old and new. Fabrizis Cucina Fresca celebrates both too. Recent renovations by new owner Dan Bashour have given the restaurant, in business since 1942, a new look, a new feel and a new menu, all while paying homage to the Fabrizi tradition alive and well in Hopwood, Pa.
The new look transports visitors to the Italian countryside. The new feel honors the comfortable tradition of big family dinners with unparallel service. The new menu promises farm fresh ingredients and quality you can taste.
Passion for Italian food made fresh
Fabrizi’s Cucina Fresca is entrepreneur Dan Bashour’s first foray into food for the masses. Bashour himself is a master in his own kitchen, drawing upon life lessons handed down from his Italian mother and Middle-Eastern father.
He’s always cooked for his own enjoyment and treating those around him, but in 2013, Dan left corporate America to focus on his passion for cooking, as he perfected his own marinara, meatball and pasta recipes. In 2014, he decided to make his dream of serving distinctive Italian cuisine for others a reality by purchasing Fabrizi's Restaurant in picturesque Hopwood, PA, and rebranding the longtime community staple as "Fabrizi's Cucina Fresca."

Chad Kozlowski has taken the lead in the kitchen as Fabrizi’s executive chef. A native of New Kensington, Pa. and current resident of Connellsville, Kozlowski is heavily invested in the community and happy to have found a permanent home in a restaurant with a history and tradition as rich as Fabrizi’s.
After graduating from Pennsylvania Culinary Institute, Kozlowski gained experience in several types of kitchens and restaurant atmospheres. With Fabrizi’s he’s enjoyed the freedom of creating the menu and ideal atmosphere, and hopes visitors will enjoy everything wonderful that Fabrizi’s once was – taken to the next level.
